Festive Christmas Workshop
Looking at traditional images from the rich heritage of Scandinavian folk art as inspiration, enjoy a day of seasonal play.
Create illustrated mixed media Christmas cards and paper chain garlands in a sophisticated colour palette inspired by the Scandi aesthetic in this festive fun workshop. Perfect to send out to friends and family!
Working with a range of media and collage we will produce bold designs and print beautiful decorative patterns.
Learn about composition, placement, positive and negative space, and experiment with pattern, image and repeat to personalise your creations.
Enjoy a veggie lunch, nibble on a mince pie and sip a glass of mulled wine to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Whether you are an artist or craft maker or embarking for the first time with little experience, Kate and Nicola encourage & celebrate the development of the creative voice in all students they meet, whilst having a few laughs on the way.
And just to reassure you …. As Artists, practicing designers & Educators for over 25 years, Kate Johnson & Nicola Taylor (MA RCA) offer expertise & personalised tuition in all areas of Art and Design.
This workshop consists of a morning & afternoon session of making
to create a selection of Christmas cards and decorations
This will run either side of a Christmassy vegetarian lunch.
All art materials are provided so all you need to bring is yourself.
At the end of the workshop, you will take away all work completed during the session and the knowledge of how to continue further exploration at home.

Workshop plan:
11.00 - welcome tea/coffee
11.00 - 12.30 - Morning session – learning the process of mono printing and transfer printing. Exploring and developing these techniques through given tasks.
12.30 -1.15 Lunch
1.15 - 3.00 - Afternoon session – Expanding upon and inspired by the techniques learnt during the mornings workshop. Developing your style by producing a collection of cards
